Volunteer Sign-up - Clemens Crossing PTA

Note: Siblings may NOT accompany parents when volunteering during the school day.

After School Classes –Help schedule classes and manage registrations, in compliance with PTA Council rules.
After School Movies – Help set up for movies, collect admission fees, distribute and monitor students. Help at as many (or as few) as you wish – 4 are scheduled for the year.
Awards Committee - Help apply for National PTA and teacher recognition awards, gather letters and arrange a memory book.
Bingo Night - Assist in implementing a Family Fun BINGO night scheduled for 11/17/11.
Book Fair – Assist in the sale of books for after-school and evenings during American Education week and conference days scheduled for Nov 17-22, 2011.
Career Day (4/27/12) – Share your career with our fourth and fifth grade students. There are several sessions throughout the day. In addition to presenters, help is also needed to plan schedule, direct speakers and set up food and drinks.
Carnival – Assist with set up of booths and running the games for this special PTA social activity scheduled for Spring this year (5/4/12).
Community Outreach – Plan, organize, and assist with events to support area schools and community groups.
Cultural Arts – Assist with the school’s Cultural Arts performances during the school year. Activities may include seeking grant money to schedule additional artists, suggesting appropriate artists and greeting artists on performance days.
Directory – Assist chairperson in proofreading the school directory, which is published in early Fall.
Fitness and Health - Help promote fitness and health at CCES through volunteering for PTA-sponsored activities, including the 2nd Annual CougarThon on 9/25/11 and helping with Healthy Howard Day, to name a few. A great way to see your children and help promote fitness!
Hero Day – Assist in the planning, reserving, and organizing of Hero Day, typically held in early June.
International Night (2/24/12)– Assist with planning activities and helping the night of the even. Looking for parents who are also willing to share their culture/heritage via games, food, artifacts, etc. at the event.
Kindergarten Registration – Help to greet and register incoming 2012-13 kindergarten families during school hours. This takes place during the HCPSS Kindergarten Registration Week - Feb 27 through March 2.
Landscaping School Grounds – Help maintain the gardens for the school. Meet in fall, spring, and summer for 3 hours of gardening fun. All family members are welcome. There is periodic weeding throughout the school year.
Market Day – Help distribute and collect Market Day forms and memos, make phone calls, and distribute orders on pickup night.
Media – Help in the Media Center during the school day – shelving books, checking out students’ choices, and various other tasks.
Membership – Help plan the PTA membership drive. Help is needed primarily in September and occasionally later in the year.
Memory Book – Photograph staff, teachers and students throughout the year, and assist in getting book ready to go to print in early Spring.
Patron of the Arts – Assist with the fundraising campaign to bring well known children's authors to the school. Help Media Specialist coordinate author’s visit with booking agent.
Paw Print Press – Typists, proofreaders, and bookbinders are needed to help edit and publish books written and illustrated by each CCES student. Work can be done at home or at school.
PTA Social Activities – Assist in planning and implementing family fun events throughout the year. See calendar for tentative list of events.
PTA Web Site – Help update the PTA web site.
Reflections – Assist with preparing student entries for this National PTA Arts Contest. Publicize, collect, prepare and judge entries in the Fall.
Safe to School – Verify absence of students from 10:25 - 11:15 one morning a month.
Science Fair – Assist with organizing and implementing this special event planned for May 2012.
Special Education Committee – Work with the Special Education Liaison to promote, support and recognize the best practices in meeting the needs of students receiving Special Education services.
Specialist Opportunities – Assist teachers in the specialist areas on an as-needed basis.
Spirit Wear – Assist with putting the order packets together and organizing the orders for distribution. There are 2 sales per academic year.
Staff Appreciation – Volunteer to donate food items (store bought or homemade), supplies, or time to help with set-up and clean-up for events for CCES staff. Events are scheduled both during the school day and evenings.
Vision and Hearing Screening – Help screeners manage students to & from classrooms and while they wait.
Wrapping Paper Distribution – Assist in the distribution of the individual orders from this fundraiser – Oct 2011.
